The story behind Butterfly Terri Lyn:

This was a gift to my wife, Terri Lyn, for Valentines Day so it is named for her.

The story behind Butterfly Hope:

I chose Hope as a name because I live in western Washington where I have never seen a monarch. I have native milkweed planted, hoping that someday I will see one.

The story behind Butterfly Malcolm!:

I am sponsoring the butterfly for my mom. Malcolm is named after her adorable Uncle Malcolm who gave her a butterfly net at age seven. She took the net to the beach to catch bullheads and to the lake to catch sponges but didn’t butterfly hunt with it until later in life.

The story behind Butterfly PokeyNose:

PokeyNose is a term of endearment in the family - and we're ALL family 🙂 Also, the name seems particularly applicable here since PokeyProboscis is a mouthful.

The story behind Butterfly King Felix:

Named after Felix Hernandez, a famous baseball player who pitched for the Seattle Mariners from 2005 thru 2019. His nickname is "King Felix". My husband and sons and grandsons are big baseball fans.

The story behind Butterfly Lane Callahan:

Lane Callahan my daughter. I was a butterfly farmer when she was a child so butterflies have always been her siblings. She was an only child with 1000's of tiny siblings! She'll be 42 in October 30th, just in time for the migration.

The story behind Butterfly Survivor:

I gave her this name because butterflies are far more resilient than most give them credit for.

In honor of our favorite Internet Dad and Simultaneous Sipper. RIP Scott. We miss you.
